Tis' the season for Repubs to announce they won't run for reelection in 2008... |
|
There are going to be lots of Repub seats up for grabs as present Repub members of Congress anticipate life as a representative with no power whatsoever.
It is not nearly as much fun being a member of Congress if you can't call the shots, and the opposition party has a huge majority.

1. Wayne Allard can lead that conga line out of Congress |
|
He announced after seeing the writing on the wall. It just wasn't going to be fun like it used to be.

2. Anytime you see Longtime Repubs like Hagel, Warner of Virginia announce they are leaving... |
|
... you know that they have read the polls and know that Repubs are going to take it on the chin.

4. In some cases, they already were (if you get my drift)... |

That, and the fact that Junior is looking to be more the anchor around the neck of their precious party than the wind beneath their wings, well... This is looking to be a very productive campaign cycle -- if we don't eat each other alive in the primaries.
