1. Jumping off the stage wrestling six police to the ground and
getting tasered!

U.S. Senator tasered in scuffle with police!

6. They'd probably do better than taser him.
They were probably itching to turn Kerry into collateral damage in the GWOT.

4. Kerry is a war hero
And he couldn't run over to at least see what was happening?

Something is eerie about hearing him speaking sort of calmly into his microphone in the background while the guy was being manhandled by the police.

13. Agreed
But hearing Kerry's voice sort of droning on in the background when the guy was screaming was bizarre. His voice and the horrible incident happening right there were disconnected from each other. I wish I could describe it better.

15. By The Time The Cops Got That Kid On The Floor They "Were In The Moment"
They would have tasered anybody that interfered...

I wonder if campus police have real guns...

5. .
Kerry should have kicked the kid in the nads when he was cuffed and blasted a stream of pepper spray in his eyes.

7. Did he ever answer the questions?
That might have helped.
If when they first started to remove the guy, he should have said wait, I will answer his questions and then done so.

9. I could see how Kerry may have wondered whether he was being
set up by someone who was going to start swift boating him.

On the other hand, the guy probably added some life/excitement to the discussion.

Let's face it, we all wanted Kerry to win in 2004, but his speaking demeanor does put people to sleep.

At least it does me. :boring:

11. Kerry should have gone ninja on them
He should have drawn his Daikatana, leaped into the crowd and flipped out, taking off all the cops heads with one stroke, then plunge his hand into the disrupters chest cavity and pulled out his still beating heart, holding it aloft for the cheering crowd.

16. he shold have left the podium to intercept and calm
one of the reasons I so strongly support Dennis Kucinich is that one time during the 04 campaign I saw him in Los Angeles at an anti-3 strikes event. After Dennis speech he was fielding questions and he took one from a disgruntled citizen who wanted to send his kids to private school with vouchers... anyway the guy became violently irate and it looked like there was going to be a major scene. I expected Dennis' bodyguard to sweep him away and everybody to back away... instead, Dennis approached him and look the man right in the eyes and talked to him face to face. I was too far away to hear the conversation but the man was quickly calmed without confrontation or violence. I was amazed at the scene and it cemented my perception of the man who I pray will be the nominee.

17. At What Point
By the time the cops had that kid on the ground I have no doubt, no doubt at all, they would have tasered John Kerry if he tried to interfere...
