PHOTOS: "Trust betrayed"
Pperhaps we can pause for a moment about whetehr the student "deserved" to be tasered and observe some of his fellow students rallying around him.

University of Florida students walk to the University Police Department Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, in Gainesville, Fla., to protest of the arrest of fellow student Andrew Meyer during a speech by U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. Meyer was Tasered by campus police and arrested after loudly and repeatedly trying to ask Kerry questions during a campus forum. Approximately 200 students marched to the police department to protest the use of tasers on campus and to demand charges be dropped against Meyer.

2. They're lucky they weren't tased during their
walk to protest the tasering.

Those cops need a refresher course on arrest control techniques, including wrist locks.

They really do.

3. We're in the minority here.
I can't believe the groundswell of people supporting the tasering of this student.

4. I agree
tasers are not a good thing, I don't think. One thing that amazes me is when I watch shows like "Cops" you would think that being filmed would make them use less force than necessary, but instead they seem to be way more brutal than necesarry.

5. No wonder the University
asked that the cops be put on administrative leave..not that they wouldn't have anyway.

11. Andrew Meyer was right.
He was right to be agitated.

Complacency is so 20th century.

Long live Andrew Meyer; may more of his generation ask similar questions openly and loudly.

Shame on John Kerry and his supporters here. Shame on me for supporting him without realizing that he wouldn't stick up for an Andrew Meyer.

The Radical Right media will have a field day with this story. Unfortunately, they'll for once be correct. Kerry could have, and should have handled this with the diplomacy I expected from him. What a disappointment.
