State Department suspends travel outside of Green Zone

breaking on CNN right now. Embassy blaming the suspension of Blackwater. All civilian travel outside the Green Zone has been banned.

Wolf is saying it's an embarassment for the US diplomatic mission in Iraq.

Re read story and it looks like travel is restricted because of the BS BW guys pulled. I had thought it was because BW had their permit pulled and therefor weren't there to guard things, but looks like their actions are feared to have caused a bunch of notice and uproar.

Is this any different than normal operations? I thought the only people stepping foot outside of the green zone these days where troops going out on those surprise raids knocking down doors of homes of Iraqis at 3am.
