Any pretense that "our" president is not solely pandering to fascism ought to be put to rest by this thread on Free Republic. This is perhaps all he has left, but to specifically invite some of the groups listed here is an insult to our nation and the Constitution. (But of course he himself is a clear and present danger to that document). Caution: Link that follows has pictures. Fight back, my friends:

"Members of the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com were invited to the White House today for an event for troop support organizations with President Bush. Other groups included Vets for Freedom (in the beige polo shirts), Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission (in the red polos shirts), Move America Forward, Gathering of Eagles, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars."

(I will exempt American Legion and VFW from further criticism; Move America Forward is the front group of the execrable Melanie Morgan). Hey, George, why not invite some real patriotic Americans over, like those here at DU? I have paid a fortune in taxes to support your bloodletting. Don't I at least get a picnic?

1. Nice jacket
It should have the official "Port-A-Potty" logo of Freepland, however.

2. They better enjoy it while they can because it will be a long damn time before they'll be able to
darken the WH doorstep again. Their time has come and will be soon gone, just a painful memory for the rest of America.

5. Guess who paid for the snack table?
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 08:52 PM by tridim
Yep, WE paid for super-freeper and "Good friend of Jeff Gannon" Kristinn's bratwurst and Pepsi.

Enjoy it chicken hawk. Say Kristinn, what does it feel like to support a man who has murdered over 100,000 people? You must be very proud.

Their last rally wasn't so posh.

8. Good point. My tax dollars to feed the FReepers? Yecch.
Of course, they would complain that some kid somewhere in this country might get much-needed medical care using their tax dollars. So I guess we're even.

9. Yes, it was Gathering of Eagles who beat up that father of the dead soldier.
Perfect Bush guests, I would think. I don't see the link up anymore, but I wish the moderators would have made an exception and left that one up. The personal "I-was-there" stories were enlightening, if difficult to read. Nice to know that scum was invited to OUR house. The people's house.

Well done. President Bush has always fulfilled the promise of returning honor and dignity to the White House and Oval Office. What a thrill to meet him!

14. Yuck, thank you for making me go to that site to look at more pics, I was looking
for color, not surprising all that I found was a white crowd of questionable lineage. I haven't looked at that site in quite some time, after giving in to my suspicions I was forced to. We are facing a definite brown shirted regime and all America should be horrified and disgusted. Never realized how much Ms Condi stood out before, she should be more than ashamed.

Those people disgust me as do those that worship without clear thought or rational judgment.

15. Reminds me of the odd irony of seeing an Indiana redneck wearing his KKK jacket at basketball game.
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 09:39 PM by Buzz Clik
It was a Big Ten event, and my first game as a new fan of the team. And there was this skinny racist shit wearing the jacket. I kept glancing at the floor watching and noting that this nearly all-white crowd was watching the nearly all Black competition and wondering what this brazen asshole was thinking. Perhaps he saw the players as gladiators -- slaves competing for his amusement.

And here's a knuckledragging Freeper at the WH supposedly supporting the troops. Soldiers sent to die by a President who is working out his own economic agenda at their expense. And this Freeper thinks he is supporting the troops. I don't think so.

Here's a shout-out to NanceGreggs's latest effort, who's thought inspired the second paragraph of my screed: Plain and Simple
