Have Clinton or Obama Indicated Whether or Not They Would Reappoint Bernanke? |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 09:43 PM by tritsofme
Jimmy Carter was the last Democrat that got to choose his own Fed Chairman as Bill Clinton reappointed Reagan's Greenspan in 1994 and 1998.
Bernanke's term comes due in 2010, and the next Democratic President can either reappoint him, or leave his own mark on the nation's monetary policy.
I haven't seen this issue discussed very often, if at all, and I haven't been able to find whether the frontrunners have made themselves clear.

It's my pet peeve.
Your question is a good one, but I don't recall candidates weighing in on that level of detail during primaries.
