Many more serious issues in US than pesky kids and sports psychos
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 10:12 PM by appalachianguy
The news and blogs are full of regional legal nonsense.
America should be concerned about the shrinking dollar,
eighty dollar plus per barrel oil, a possible conflict
escalation
in the Middle East, global warming and other nightmares. I
sure don't know the answers but ignoring the serious issues
doesn't make them go away.

1. The media does this to agitate the left they play like a violin while the real news goes
uncovered.

Funny thing - many of the left KNOW the media hypes and distorts events like this ALL THE TIME to hurt honest left Democrats, but some still get sucked in by the spin.

3. Amen blm
I never fail to be amazed how much attention this foolishness
garners while the world goes to Hell. The only people who care
about this regional spin are ones who profit from it or ones
who just don't want
to believe this country's in trouble. Despite it all,
America's still the best country in the world - PERIOD!

5. But it never fails...
Even the supposed "thinking" democrats spend hours and hours and then days and days flame throwing and starting new threads every single time they have a new thought that pops in their heads.

2. I think it is because
the media has been consilidated in to a few huge corporations with their own agenda. I don't necessarily think it is party driven, only profit driven.

8. Well
it IS past my bedtime.:)
But it is what we are being spoonfed by the media and we discuss that instead of all the so important issues. I meant to bookmark a post today re calling congressmen re habeus corpus but didn't. I wanted to keep it kicked. Way more important than some of the stuff that gets the most interest. At least for me it is.

7. The serious issues get discussed a lot..
But when everyone pretty much agrees there isn't always a lot to talk about. We've basically heard it all before ad regurgitam.

Many of the trivial threads are more for entertainment than anything else, although with some of the more extended trivial threads sometimes serious principles can be at the root of the discussion.

And welcome to DU. :hi:
