How is Andrew Meyer-worship any different than Bush-worship at a staged Town Hall event? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 08:47 AM by brentspeak
They both are prime examples of how gullible and self-deluding too many Americans have allowed themselves to become.
A blatantly-corrupt President produces transparently-staged and scripted question-and-answer sessions. And yet, amazingly, many Americans actually blinded themselves to the obvious bogus nature of the Town Hall events, and accepted them as being genuine.
Similarly, a college prankster and publicity-hound manufactures a clearly feigned-performance of being "oppressed". And yet, amazingly, some people actually bought the prankster's act, and elevated the doofus to the status of Martin Luther King Jr and Joan of Arc.
Is it that Chinese lead-poisoning is more widespread than we know about? Or maybe some kind of undiagnosed mental illness spreading rapidly throughout the country?

I don\'t think this board is quite the \"progressive\" playground I had hoped for.
Sad.

15. How is that statement... |
|
"another DU'er who is intolerant of dissent and supportive of police brutality"
any different from
"another DU'er who hates America and supports the terrorists?"
Same shit, different day.

I might have misinterpreted the OP's statements. I don't think I did, but it is of course possible.
"Similarly, a college prankster and publicity-hound manufactures a clearly feigned-performance of being "oppressed". And yet, amazingly, some people actually bought the prankster's act, and elevated the doofus to the status of Martin Luther King Jr and Joan of Arc."
I took that to mean 'taser away, I don't care about the right of free speech in a public forum and I don't care about police brutality'.
But you could be right. I could be misinterpreting.

18. Police report says he wasn't |
|
Nor did he behave in a manner of someone tased. He did not shut up at all, being tased makes speaking near impossible. He also did not behave physically as someone tased would.
Suspension with pay is SOP during any investigation and does not imply guilt at all.

23. They used the contact "drive stun" taser option |
|
It causes pain upon contact, but does not incapacitate the subject. It's no way comparable to the option which fires barbs/darts; that option shocks the subject into incapacitation.

People keep saying "the cops", is this a trained department? Have they received the proper training in the use of the weapon? Just sayin'.
