at the same time with Stephanie on the radio for the start so missed much. Plus I'm just getting my morning coffee here. I did hear him say, paraphrasing it, that by not allowing habeas corpus here for accused, that sent a message to the international community to ignore habeas for U.S. citizens. Basically, if we do that here, others will feel free to do it elsewhere. Absolutely agree with him.

When I try that the gum gets stuck to the bottom of my shoe. Then I get my taser mixed up with my habeas corpus and the next thing you know I'm zapping all the lawyers.

81. Snowe's last minute vote change from Nay to Aye |
|
Snowe's last minute vote change from Nay to Aye is a standard ploy. If her vote had been needed to avoid cloture, you can damn betcha she would have stuck to her Nay vote. By changing it after she knew there were more than enough votes, she can tell her mad as hell constituents that she voted Aye. She didn't vote Nay by accident. The Aye vote was an election-year ploy.
