Poll question: Would it be OK to send OJ down the river on trumped up charges based on (suspected) past guilt? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 10:37 AM by Truth Hurts A Lot
This new case does seem like a set up BUT, since most people believe he is guilty of two murders, is it OK to throw the book at him in this case to make up for his previous non-guilty verdict?

1. How does it seem like a setup? |
|
You don't trust the facts or at least those known at this point?

4. I don't know the facts at this point, ergo he is innocent until proven guilty. |

That said, O.J. seems to have developed such a serious need for publicity that it can be any kind of publicity.
And perhaps he has also developed a belief that he is untouchable.
How else can one explain his book IF I DID IT?
I wouldn't put it past some law enforcement to help along charges that would put him away based on O.J.'s past.
Perhaps it is six of one and a half dozen of the other.

2. I have no regard for O.J. Simpson... |

but I don't want anyone sent to jail unless he/she is truly guilty. If the transcripts that have been released in this case are genuine, though, he is a detestable thug who deserves to do some seriously hard time.

If he thought the person was selling stuff stolen from him then he should have gone to the police. If you try to steal it back you are just as wrong as the one that stole it first.

Even if his story is the hard truth, one does not go and take back goods at gunpoint. That is just as against the law as stealing the stuff in the 1st place. The Professor

My friend and I are partners in a small business... We often joke about what would happen if we went into a person's business and took something of value until we were paid what we were owed, given the fact that many folks will not pay for services once those services are rendered... Of course we would end up in the hoosegow...That's why we have a criminal and civil justice system...

8. This question is as bad as the people who say he is the victim |
|
First, what gives any person the right to break into someone's apartment and demand they turn over anything.
If this was his personal belongings, there were legal ways to get them back. He knew he would get away with this because he would claim he was "set up". Seems like the poor guy has a leash on him and people lead him around on and blame him for everything from spitting on the floor to MURDER.

I want our justice system to work the way it is supposed to.
From the tallies so far I can see I am not alone. I am grateful for that. I thought the community was brain-tasered.
