USA Draws Up Plans to Bomb Iran!!

Pentagon planners have developed a list of up to 2,000 bombing targets in Iran, amid growing fears among serving officers that diplomatic efforts to slow Iran's nuclear weapons programme are doomed to fail.

Pentagon and CIA officers say they believe that the White House has begun a carefully calibrated programme of escalation that could lead to a military showdown with Iran.

Under the theory - which is gaining credence in Washington security circles - US action would provoke a major Iranian response, perhaps in the form of moves to cut off Gulf oil supplies, providing a trigger for air strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities and even its armed forces.

He said: "A strike will probably follow a gradual escalation. Over the next few weeks and months the US will build tensions and evidence around Iranian activities in Iraq."

I just wanted to see what type of response this thread gets since there are several out here with the title "Iran draws up plans to bomb Israel".

1. So what?

The Pentagon has plans to bomb Iran. They have plans to bomb many countries. Because there exists a chance that war might come, and if it does, it pays to have some fucking idea about what you're doing.

Remember Iraq? Remember how we didn't have a plan for the occupation? That was bad, right? It was bad that the Pentagon did not plan for contingencies?

Sheesh.

2. Oh, but Iran isn't allowed to have a contingency plan to bomb Israel after they

bomb them?

3. Since when are countries "not allowed"

to have plans for war, both offensive and defensive? Anyone who suggests otherwise is looking to be outraged.

if they cut off our supply of GOOD beer.
