Pictures from the Harkin Steak Fry last Sunday
I already posted these pictures in General Discussion, but the post will probably sink fast, so I thought I would park them in the Photography group as well.
The Harkin Steak Fry is the kick-off event of the political season here in Iowa. It is very exciting for our rural state to get to see the Big Fish in person. I was very impressed with Sen. Edwards speech. I was leaning toward Sen Clinton prior to the Steak fry, but Edwards threw down the gauntlet with his promise to bring Single-payer, Universal health insurance to the US. He said that if we are tired of Corporate Republican politicians, we shouldn't vote for a Corporate Democratic politicians. He stated that if you invite corporate insurance companies to the table, they will eat all the food. Sen Clinton looked a little concerned at the end of the Harkin event and her team let the crowd know that she would be unveiling her new Health Care Plan on Monday. She did and she definitely has invited the Corporate insurance companies to sate themselves with her Universal Corporate Health Care Plan.
