I have a 28 ft sailboat in TN on trailer but also near river that feeds into gulf of Mexico at Mobile.

It's in great shape (well, minor repairs) and well equipped with state of the art navigational electronics

Have Dingy but no life raft

It still needs bottom paint (I have it) and launching.

Problem is mainly labor and money to launch (crane rental, dockage) and fuel (gas)

and crew ready to put in the elbow grease to make her go.

Biggest Problem: I don't have a passport yet. May take a while.

Rio dulse in Guatemala looks good. Best Hurricane Hole In The Caribbean.

Nicaragua looks interesting too.

Belize and Panama both have currencies tied to US dollar, but otherwise look good

Diesel Mechanics Preferred ( Have Diesel inboard doesn't work but two good outboards)

to make a 28 foot sailboat seaworthy, then sailing to Guatemala might not be the safest choice for you? Just a thought.
