A small flicker of hope in MSNBC's coverage of yesterday's votes.
The chiron while the story about the troop extension bill was clear and unambiguous this morning: GOP Blocks Troop Support Bill. I think it was actually worded a little differently, but it was an hour ago and the coffee hadn't kicked in yet.

I also saw that CNN changed a headline on their web site yesterday, which had originally fingered the Democrats for their "failure" to advance the bill.

I know there were lots of letters written by DUers to both "networks." Hopefully it had some effect, and they're coming around. Keep the pressure on!

1. This is how it has to be done.
Left to their own devices, and those of their complicit owners.. the spin will be repug and WRONG.

If we don't make lots of noise, and let them know that the truth is already circulating around the blogosphere, they have no incentive to temper their twisting...

2. Guess I didn't get the same sense of things when I reviewed MSNBC.com this morning.
I did fire off an email to AP:

Dear Sirs,

Yesterday, I saw no less than 3 AP stories with misleading and inaccurate headlines. Here they are:

Senate rejects giving D.C., Utah House seats
Senate rejects attempt to regulate combat tours
Senate refuses to expand detainee rights

None of these carry a by-line, but all give the reader the false impression that the actions were bipartisan, when in fact, all three rejections came from GOP Senators. I'm really sick and tired of the 'spin' you put on political stories at the request of the worst administration in US history.

Sincerely,
