Canadian Dollar just passed USD... |
|
at FXstreet.com
1USD = 0.9999 CAD
It's been bouncing around all morning, but just crossed the par threshold for the first time.

4. I used to buy a lot of DVDS from Canadian sites when the rate was 2/3rds of a U.S. Dollar! |
|
It was a way to get cheaper DVDS in those days...
My times have changed!...

8. I just heard some "expert" say it wouldn't happen |
|
At least not so soon. And he said "it wouldn't be a big deal anyway".
Well, maybe not to financial wonks, but to the rest of us, it's VERY symbolic...

9. And its symbolic that it happened right after we lowered the prime interest rate yesterday! |
|
That rate needs to be stabilized or raised soon, or the dollar is going into the toilet!
They say, well, we can't do it or the housing market will collapse!
NO THAT'S NOT WHY! It is because Americans need more SPENDING MONEY not lower interest rates to buy houses! STOP THE MILKING OF OUR TREASURY BY THE RICH! Stop the tax giveaways to them and reinstate the older marginal tax rates before Reagan screwed with them! Then the dollar will get "healthy" again!
