DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has vowed in a new tape to retaliate against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for the killing of a rebel cleric and the raid on his mosque in July, a U.S. Web site said on Thursday.

"We in al Qaeda organisation call on God to witness that we will retaliate for the blood of ... Abdul Rashid Ghazi and those with him against Musharraf and those who help him, and for all the pure and innocent blood," lauramansfield.com quoted bin Laden as saying in English excerpts of his comments.

It did not post the full version of the tape. ....

The authenticity of neither message could immediately be verified but an al Qaeda linked Web site had earlier said that bin Laden tape was expected to appear in a new tape and declare war on Musharraf and the Pakistani army.

The message from al Qaeda's media arm As-Sahab features the voice of the Saudi-born militant over video montage of him, the site said. Earlier in the day, As-Sahab issued a compilation that included new comments by senior al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri mixed with what appeared to be older footage of bin Laden himself.

Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden is calling on Pakistanis to rebel against President Pervez Musharraf in a new audiotape.

The announcement of the upcoming message came as al-Qaida released a new video in which bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, boasted that the United States was being defeated in Afghanistan, Iraq and other fronts.

Speakers in the video promised more fighting in Afghanistan, North Africa and Sudan's Darfur region. ...........

3. Ah yes
The administration is trying to prop up Musharif as a stop gap measure. This will conflate him into being a 'good arab' in the eyes of the fox media machine which will dutifully translate that to most of their audience like a 'punch and Judy' puppet show.

5. Looks like one of those "still image" videos
They're just showing a photo. A photo of a very young-looking Bin Laden at that. I'm becoming more and more convinced he's dead.
