2. All I care about is that they keep pushing for bills like Webb's measure from last night
It's annoying that they get sucked into bogus "patriotic" resolutions like Cornyn's, but that's a small price to pay if they can get substantive things accomplished.

9. What have they accomplished? Please, tell me, cause I can't
think of a single thing. Wasn't Webb's bill defeated.

16. Half of Bush's White House staff have resigned due to the Senate Judiciary hearings
Alberto Gonzales himself was forced to resign, due to the Senate Judiciary hearings.

The Democratic Senate Judiciary hearings, that is.

20. I'll bet lots of people looking to learn how to be part of the solution don't know
There are ways to be inclusive. It makes winning in the long stretch more likely to be inclusive rather than feed the beast that calls DEMS elitist.

Cliques don't help us, no matter how cool it may feel to act cliquish.

21. I didn't know I was being "cliquish"....
I thought I was being pissed off.

The only "clique" I belong to is the Democratic Party, and I'm pissed off at a bunch of them that I would vote for over all the pigs.

Still, I'm pissed, and I have told them, and I'm expressing it here.

23. when you expect that everyone knows what you are talking about
by the use of one word in a thread starter, yeah, it smacks of clique. When I asked for a bit of explanation, you did not offer it even then.

clique clique

It might be helpful to keep in mind there are more and more political novices reading DU, looking for ways to get involved, not insulted if they aren't immediately in the know on a one word OP

5. Self-serving greedy corporatists.
We might as well face it; most aren't there to serve the people. Both parties.

19. On whose side? Did any Dems vote against it? Are you talking about the MoveOn vote?
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 12:34 PM by saracat
If so, I could care less about it. MoveOn used really poor verbiage. They could have criticised Petraus using different words. They actually undercut the Democrats criticism of Petreaus.
