Moveon.org started by advocating the censure of Bill Clinton |
|

as opposed to impeaching him. Their name originally was "Censure and Move On", as in move on to more important issues.
Does anyone think they really though he deserved Censure?
The Senate has moved on from the meaningless MoveOn.org crap, and is now discussing the Feingold-Reid bill to end the Iraq war.
Sounds good to me.

1. I stand with MoveOn.org. |
|
I stand against the Betray-Us crap on Iraq. And I stand against the Hillary sell-out-to-the-corporations health-coverage abomination.

2. Censure seemed like an appropriate solution to me, at least. |

It was a way to acknowledge that, yes, he lied under oath, but that it was a rather inconsequential lie, not tied to anything criminal.
If there was anything missing from the equation, it was the as-yet unrealized fact that the GOP wasn't playing by any rules of "reasonable." It was playing pure partisan power politics.
Its kind of ironic. MoveOn is now being scape-goated because they *have* realized what the GOP is up to, and are now playing hardball. It's the Democrats in Congress who haven't caught up with current events, even after 10 years.

4. IMO he should have resigned |

Flame away I have always taken this position. If you lie to the american people as president no matter how trivial the matter your ass should be gone. Period.

7. I thought he should have resigned too... |

For what you said, and also because Monica technically worked for him (I don't care about the sex but I care about the employment implications); but also if he had quickly resigned, Gore would have had incumbent advantage, and as it turns out that could have made a huge difference for the world.
I normally don't post that opinion here. Running and hiding now. :)
