Bill O'Reilly losing Radio Show?
http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/10037

Well, folks - not O'Reilly's Folks...you folks - it's been quite a couple days.

Just after I wrote my mea culpa today for my report yesterday that Bill O'Reilly was losing his show - because a well-placed source told me that he wasn't losing his show - I get word that he IS losing his show. He'll be going home well before the troops...December.

Therefore, I am retracting my mea culpa which included a pledge not to write anything negative about Bill for one full week. So sayng "good riddance" is totally within the breaking of the story...and the breaking of the pledge.

Well, there you have it. I had it right at the start. And now I have it right again.

But just in case, I don' think it would hurt to be prudent.

To Driveby Liberal Media™, it might just look like Keith Olbermann's beating the TV Factor ratings - on his Bill's birthday yet - is getting to the Nospinster....

Like a former leader of the pride, the beaten old lion is losing his power - and his sexual appeal to the under-65 year old lionesses - to a younger, more virile young leader. But that's not what is driving the Nospinster bat-crazy.

It's more. Big time more. Big time "Al Franken will be doing an 'I'm good enough' back-flip in the Minnesota senatorial campaign snow" more.

The buzz around the watering hole is that the Big Cat may be losing his radio gig and it's got to be driving him off the deep end.

It's always rather pathetic when the lion becomes the wildebeest and drinking from the dried up Kool Aid waterhole makes him even more vulnerable...and sad.

1. yup, i heard this the other day, and dcrtv mentioned it this morn
Bill O'Reilly To Give Up Radio Show? - 9/20 - Just as he gets added today on new Bonneville talker 3WT at noon, DCRTV hears that Bill O'Reilly (right) may give up his nationally syndicated midday radio talk show. The Westwood One program has not been a ratings winner in the dozens of markets it has aired in. Including DC. CBS talker WJFK-FM dropped O'Reilly's show mid-summer because of low ratings - and received one e-mail of complaint when it did so, we're told. Giving up the radio show would allow the right-leaning NYC-based commentator to focus on his top-rated Fox News Channel TV show. However, we hear that a Westwood One source is telling radio affiliates that a contract extension for O'Really will be announced in a few weeks. More from Steve Young at the Huffington Post.....

6. Speaking of 3WT, have you seen the line up?
Neal Boortz and O'Reilly (and Glenn Beck coming in January) along with Randi Rhodes, and Stephanie Miller (coming in November).

4. If he loses it
it's because he just isn't interesting. Orally is boring. He's rude to his guests, he's pompous and arrogant. It just gets tiresome.

I've watched his show during the Countdown commercials and it's just dull. Between Malkin and Bernard Goldberg's screeds it just gets tiresome. I can only imagine what his radio program must be like.

7. Will Limbaugh soon follow?
They have become so extreme, and the tragic outcomes of their schemes, the misery of their philosophy, the emptiness of their meanness, the pointlessness of their anger, the cowardice of their heroes, the incompetence of their leaders and the endless frustration of their followers whom they lead from negative idea to more negative idea and from insult to greater insult are becoming apparent. Nobody can keep going down the path they have chosen forever. It leads to Hell. Their listeners and viewers are starting to realize where it all will end -- and turning around.

Competition is good. Air America, for all its problems, has provided a little balance and allowed voices other than those of the rigid righties to be heard. Thank you, Air America. Thank you also, Jon Stewart, Colbert, Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Thom Hartmann, Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, and the many, many others who are speaking out and putting O'Reilly and Limbaugh to shame. America can find a better way. Limbaugh and O'Reilly and the rest of their ilk need to just drift right on down hellward by themselves and let America rise up and out of the muck. We can do so much better than those guys and their clones.
