I need help with this letter to Mary Landrieu!
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 02:44 PM by 8_year_nightmare
Please read what I have & let me know how I can improve it without sounding threatening. I plan to handwrite the letter & send it by snail mail.

Move-On is a Democratic PAC that has been invaluable to the Democrats by getting the unfiltered truth out to the public and by rallying support for the Democrats when they were attacked. I can think of two organizations that have grievously lied against Democrats to the public and they weren’t “condemned” by Congress: the Swiftboaters and Fox News.

It is clear that Republicans, who are not doing well in the polls but somehow have the power to sway certain Democrats to their way of thinking consistently, are taking valuable time that could be used to end Bush’s war to vote on a condemnation of a PAC of which they are afraid. Truth is their enemy.

I’m so outraged by this petty vote against Move-On that I cannot support your re-election. I only vote for authentic Democrats and I cannot support someone who has represented only the Republican constituency. If our state is going to have only Republican representation, we might as well have an honest-to-goodness Republican sitting in your senate chair.

2. I like it, but you do know she doesn't give a shit about what you think or want,
right? We are not the ones in power here. They have made that perfectly clear. You'll be lucky if her staff even bothers to open mail anymore. She really doesn't care if she has your vote or not.

3. Landrieu's seat is very vulnerable this time around.
In this backward-thinking state, the Democrats have taken a beating on the Katrina issue. Nevermind that David Vitter, who likes prostitutes, and Bobby (originator of the "blue fingers" at the SOTU speech) Jindal are both Bush bootlickers & should be viewed as having the clout to get some post-Katrina progress done but did nothing.

Republican voters here despise the Landrieus. Her seat is critically at risk due to Katrina. I believe that is why she has gone out of her way to vote with the Republicans, but it has made her a woman without a country. The Republicans don't like her, regardless of her voting record, & she has shown the Democrats that she doesn't represent them.

Look for her to lose her seat.

6. Her voting record was that way before Katrina
I have done the math, and her voting record changed not one iota after KAtrina....it just became her excuse after Katrina.

She is a long-time DLCer who votes with the Democrats less than 20% of the time. Just to give you prespective, Leiberman was about 40% when we booted him from the party.

11. True, her voting record is no different before Katrina, but only we Democrats would know that.

The Republican constituency in our state -- trust me -- would never know that due to the fact that they (1) aren't paying attention and (2) they get what little (dis)information they know from Rush Limpballs & Faux News.

8. Agreed... By all rights, she should be toast....
There's no republican alive that would vote for her- no matter how she votes. And democrats should think twice about it, frankly. The Landrieu's have proven themselves to be career politicians with their own best interests at heart. I think your letter says it all.

Hey from Baton Rouge! :hi:

23. Coolio!
I used to work in St. Rose right off of Airline Highway. Commuting in from Baton Rouge was quite an adventure- Especially after Katrina.

9. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I've emailed her and told her staffers on the phone several times that she should be putting "R-Lite" after her name, and that we need an actual Democrat in her seat.

I've also responded to her automatic requests for donations to the same effect.

Not one damn dime of mine will she receive.

Up until now, I've simply deleted them.

22. She has betrayed her state in so many ways
its impossible to list them all.

A good senator would have held Congress and Bush's feet to the fire to get NO and the gulf cleaned up after Katrina. She's done nothing except vote with Bush and the GOP on anything they ask for.

She should be ashamed...and replaced.
