Since I wrote this in a very angry state of mind, I would like a
little input.

My letter to the editor.

I am saddened and angered by the Senate passing a GOP amendment to repudiate the MoveOn.org ad against Gen. David Petraeus.

Where was the outrage when the delegates to the 2004 republican national convention wore band-aids with purple hearts colored on them?

Where was the outrage at the right comparing Disabled vet, Democratic Sen. Max Cleland to a terrorist in 2002?

Where was the outrage when this President’s response to attacks on American troops was “Bring it on!”?

We would be foolish not to question what this administration and those who work for them are telling us. Since it has been shown over and over again that they have fudged the facts, been less than honest, have not been completely candid, oh come on we’ve been lied to.

Or as Bush would say… “Fool me once, shame on ummm, me, fool me… won’t get fooled again.”

6. Thanks!
I am not sure why this vote just pushed me over the edge. You would think I would be use to this crap by now. But when I heard about the vote I thought I would be sick. Just once too often for me.

9. Its the betrayal
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 02:58 PM by Zodiak Ironfist
We expect the pukes to act like enemies, but when we have to say "Et tu, Brute?" to our own Dems, the wound penetrates deep and hurts like hell.

And that is why we are pushed over the edge today. I should step away from DU because I feel a gigantic "Fuck you!!!!" brewing that would not be pretty.

What if you found out that you entire offensive line was actually playing for the other team? Would you be miffed? Damned straight we would!!!!

11. I'm in the same boat
I went ballistic....

I'm even thinking of leaving the Party as a statement but then I realize that I might be hurting no one but myself, but if they can't get their act together, why should I associate with them?

Something about this was the final straw....

3. And where was the outrage
when one of the RW's beloved pundits suggesting blowing up an American city as a way to get the people on board with the War On Terror?

Where was the outrage when someone suggested blowing up a media building?

Hell, where was the outrage at a thousand stupid, insane, and downright vile comments by any number of RW pundits?

This is well-written and is likely to be accepted, IMHO, if you sende it to your local paper.

13. This was an attack on their war for oil, of course they are outraged.
I think people forget that only one person stood up in 2002 and said that the war was about oil and then voted against it and never funded it to continue. Why are most people blind to the fact that most of our candidates only care about their interests not ours? This is why I only support Dennis Kucinich, the guy continues to try and speak for the people against the corruption of politics while the rest only talk around the issue instead of ATTACKING it?

You can say he doesn't get support or he runs a horrible campaign but I care more about having an honest person fail while fighting for me than a corrupt one acting like they are fighting for me as they fail and win for the corporations and the wealthy. To me that means something, thats who I want to lead the country for my family's future.

You are succinct, on point, and thought provoking.

22. It doesn't look angry; more like me when I'm mellow
Personally, I think a little well placed anger is a good thing. Republicans don't listen, unless they know you're mad at them. Something about their authoritarian personalities responding to a stronger personality, a Republican guy told me once.

Weren't they trying to get bush condemned a while ago for breaking the law and lying us into war? It didn't have the votes..but, to condemn a truthful newspaper ad did have the votes!
