If you don't want to donate to MoveOn, just drop them a positive note.
Besides the fact that what they said is TRUE, It was their right to say it.

I made a point of doing BOTH and thanking my Senators (Levin, Stabenow) for their nay votes.

1. I did both also. Said my money was going to MoveOn instead of
weak dems and thanked them for all they do. I feel good about that too.

2. I see nothing positive in what they're doing
The general, for all his faults, is not a traitor - even a stooge can have personal dignity we should respect.

Move On didn't stop Bill's impeachment or keep us from going to war. I'm happy to support worthy causes, but this one's not deserving of our encouragement. We can do better by supporting our party's elected candidates and repeating the fact that our majority is insufficient but necessary to prevent further damage until the next election.

5. There is a fine line between politicians and members of the military.
When officers make political statements they become politicians. And when those statments don't reflect the reality on the ground it must be considered betrayal.

6. And even political opponents deserve the illusion of respect
Our party is in nominal power and should remain above the fray.

8. A STOOGE with PERSONAL DIGNITY???
Before you can have personal dignity, how about PERSONAL INTEGRITY? This man is General McClellan reincarnated, and his presidential aspirations for 2012 are completely transparent.

I grant him NOTHING, and the use of a canard HIS OWN TROOPS coined is completely appropriate. Even William Westmoreland commanded more respect from his own troops.

9. A stooge with personal dignity? Wow.
I'm afraid Petraeus is more Curly than Iggy.

The general's lack of integrity has invited much worse attacks than MoveOn's.

10. No thanks.
It was a clumsy tactical move- that it's true, has nothing to do with it. There were smarter ways of making the same point. The General Betray Us ad is good for MoveOn, but whether it was good for anything or anyone else is debatable. I support MoveOn in general, and I like the ads they're running now, but the NYT ad sucked all the air out of the room.

If you're gonna gore a sacred cow, you should be cleverer than they were.

11. Sorry. Don't agree.
The time has passed for polite debate. We need the political equivalent of the Civil War resolution on participation by blacks that stated that "...the time has come for more drastic remedies, such as hot lead and cold steel administered by 100,000 black doctors..."

We are at the edge of a political, military, and economic ABYSS; the time has passed for polite.

Quite frankly? FUCK the opposition, in all and any way possible.
