These people have BETRAYED US.
Harry Reid refuses to force the republicans to filibuster.

Nancy Pelosi took impeachment off the table.

Cardin, Johnson, Webb, Landrieu, Pryor, McCaskill, Feinstein, Casey, Salazar, Nelson (FL), Nelson (NE), Conrad, Lincoln, Mikulski, Leahy, Dorgan, Baucus, Carper, Tester, Kohl... and about 10 more... all just said you were condemnable.

Nobody has done a single thing to end the war.

Nobody has done anything to hold anyone accountable for the crimes of the last 7 years (do not confuse accountability with oversight - Dems are plenty good at campaigning - that's all oversight amounts to without accountability - campaigning on your tax dime).

These people have BETRAYED US.

much more - Plus some action plans at:

1. What's the point of having a Democratic majority if they won't do anything with it?
Not that it's all for naught - Waxman and Conyers are moving in the right direction, albeit at a glacial pace. But most of these clowns are almost as useless as tits on a boar.

7. The concerns raised are valid.
Why must there be this kind of disrespect towards fellow liberals who are voicing legitimate concerns on DU? "Get a grip"???? That's your response? Is it really neccessary to be so rude? The Democrats are totally underplaying their hand, and pardon some of us if we don't understand why they would do this. The Democrats deserve criticism. To fold when so much is at stake is not acceptable.

8. Get some post content...seriously
You contribute nothing with your post. Just attacking the messenger as if they "lost their grip".

Could your tactics be more condescending, antagonistic, and devoid of content?

They all never took place?

10. Who's in jail? What terrible legislation has been reversed?
What signing statements have been nullified?

Still have the 'Patriot' act?

Still have domestic surveillance?

...A few bad guys left and will be replaced with other bad guys. That's not much help.

14. Wait. Explain PRECISELY how the Senate Judiciary cmte would send people to jail?
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 03:18 PM by brentspeak
Do you know what the Senate Judiciary committee is? What it does, and what it can't do?

Also, can you explain EXACTLY how just a slim majority of Democrats are supposed to "reverse" legislation when there's more than enough Republicans to counter them, and a President who will constantly veto their efforts?

24. I wasn't restricting my comments to this one committee
You said they were getting things done; I said they haven't accomplished much that matters.

If they can't help it, then they can't, but that's still not accomplishment.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe just the resignations of Albert Gonzales and much of his staff.

You're right, just that.

20. "resignations"? You mean the hogs that went to the bigger troughs filled with taxpayer dollars???
I fail to see the 'victory' in seeing the hogs go free to gobble up their fill of the plunder they've helped steal.

Here's a newsflash: Changing jobs isn't a 'punishment' for criminality. MILLIONS of hard-working Americans lose a job every year and have to find another - WITHOUT the help of a political machine they pay for! The vast majority of those hard-working Americans go to a job that pays LESS!

Besides Duke Cunningham (convicted by a GOP-appointed US Attornety) and a few others, WHO'S gone to jail?

Where's habeas corpus? Where's our privacy? When will the fat cats pay for the cat food?

6. Yep. More and more people are getting it.
Thanks for the link. I really am wondering what to do. Working within the system isn't getting us anywhere and (personally) I simply cannot condone or commit violence of any kind.

I'm having health issues, but I really would like a cause to believe in...something to fight for. We need a leader. People tell me, "Be the leader," but right now that is impossible for me. Plus, I'm not that great a motivator. We need a real leader.

9. Donate to moveon.org...
...and let them and your senators that you have done so, and why you have done so.

Get your friends and family to donate too if possible.

Let's give them a real war chest so they can turn up the heat.

Personally, I found the ad mild, considering the issues at hand. So they insulted the bastard, he deserves to be insulted.

18. Look back to 2002 to and you will see a true leader of the people!
Only one person stood up alone and said the war was about oil and voted against it and continued to vote against funding. The rest stood beside their republican friends and continued the deaths. Why did they all choose to hand Bush a loaded weapon and ammo whenever he asked for it, while Dennis Kucinich stood alone against the system saying no. What was their agenda then and why have we expected their agenda to be any different. If we keep electing officials that only stand for the corporations and continue to "betrayus" why do we deserve any better? The complaining has to stop, if we dont decide to vote for someone that isn't bought. I know my vote will be for Kucinich in the primary and I will wait to see what my fellow Americans want for their families future.

It is getting old hearing people complain as they continue to support the same politicians that have taken part in where our country is today. One party alone cant just hijack the system, we need to realize that so we can see what is being done.

How anyone who speaks of leaving it, should Get The Fuck Out!

THIS COUNTRY IS A JOKE!!

I'm embarassed to be an American, and frankly, don't anticipate finishing my life in a place whose ultimate demise is probably around the corner, and deservedly so.

25. I realize to many this is no big deal, but to me it may just
be the last straw. The rights political leaders, talking heads, and supporters can say whatever evil they want about the Democrats and anyone that questions king bush. And no outrage. But speak against the king and even the dems beg for forgiveness. I am so sick of it.

27. Feinstein, in particular, is pissing me of today.
I mean, FUCK. She represents California! Why the hell is she carrying water for the Republicans time and again? She gets a pass waaaay too often. I have really come to despise her. I was a Bay Area child when she took over when Moscone was shot in S.F., and I've followed her since then. What a colossal disappointment. I wonder if she'll retire soon. :grr:
