I had occasion to walk past the Clinton08 offices on N Fairfax Drive in Fairfax VA this morning ....

... and it was a beehive of activity. But what struck me was the 'feel' of the place. It is in a high rise office building. There were several young men seemingly 'patrolling' the entrance. Big young men. Bodyguardish young men.

Were I interested in going in there, they would have caused me to reconsider.

... due to their special status (she as former First Lady and he as First Black Potential Nominee). Is the Fairfax office one she's likely to actually be in from time to time?

Other than that, yes I find it disturbing, but mostly as a sign of the times, the same way I'm disturbed by our heavily-guarded US embassies abroad. It may be necessary, but it's also very sad, because it keeps our friends as well as our enemies at arm's length.

(guys in suits with earpieces) then she was there. or the Big Dog was. I walk by that building four or five times a week (my girlfriend lives next door) and haven't seen any security at all.
