Sad Day....When almost half the Democrats in the Senate Condemn Free Speech of other Democrats
expressing their right to Free Speech by buying the Ad to express their opinion expressing the TRUTH about Petreus conflicts. How many RW'er crazy ads have been bought by wealthy Repugs alleging absurd untruth's about Democrats...I think there was even one saying Hillary Clinton murdered Vince Foster that was published...but there have been so many. What about Ruppert Murdoch owning a "News Channel" that vilifies and lies about Democrats 24/7. We don't need Dems condemning other Dems for their right to Free Speech when they are pointing out facts that can't get aired because of the Corporate owned media in America. When roughly half of our Democrats in the Senate vote to Censure Free Speech..what does that say about state of things these days?

I'm still in state of shock over this...I think that I must be living in some nightmare where our own drive the bus over us and then turn around and drive back over their tracks just to make sure the damage was done properly.

1. Please remove Lieberman from this list.
Do not even infer that that asshat is a Democrat. Please.

4. I'm beginning to think my friends who say "why bother to vote" are right
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 03:40 PM by LSparkle
These tools are ALL IN IT FOR THEMSELVES. No wonder they won't stand up -- they just want to keep their "majority" and still be able to hoard all the power and money for themselves.

SHAMELESS!!!!!!!!!

This really rules out Obama and Clinton in my book. I was leaning toward Edwards -- the ONLY CANDIDATE WHO'S TAKING ON THE POWER STRUCTURE -- and now I'm firmly in his camp. No way either Clinton or Obama is getting my vote after this.

10. What ????
Obama didn't vote. Clinton voted correctly - she voted against the resolution. Biden didn't vote. Dodd voted correctly - against the resolution.

If candidate Elizabeth Edwards had been in the senate today she would have voted incorrectly - she would have voted FOR the resolution. She is the only major Dem that has condemned the ad.

Good grief.

Maybe you forgot to indicate you were being sarcastic.

13. That's a sentiment I hear a lot of
And it's fueled in no small part by the Democrats' repeated betrayals of their traditional values and their core constutuents.

19. I am waiting to hear from you and hoping you will acknowledge
that you were previously confused. Of the three candidates you mentioned, Hillary is the only one who actually did something today and did the right thing.

8. BWAHAHAHA
Leahy take marching orders from the DLC? The DLC loathes Leahy. He's one of the most liberal and activist Senators. Yes, I hate his vote on this, but it hardly cancels out all the work he's done. And any cursory review of his funding would show you he's not owned by any corporate interests.

11. I wonder what he could possibly be thinking to vote for this?
I can't come up with anything...Nothing about his record would show why he would do this. Many of the rest of them are the Gang of 14 who are DINO...but I think after this we should drop the D in DINO...because they are really Republican through and through.

28. Maybe he thinks that calling someone in uniform a traitor...
... is just too much. Or calling someone who war a uniform with distinction, and has his purple hearts ridiculed with band-aids, is just too much. Or someone who lost their limbs in war, and is portrayed as the enemy, is just too much. The Chimp is the enemy, not some lackey general.

14. ...because you say so. Yeah - right!
This is why the DLC is dangerous. For all their claims of supposedly wanting to help Democrats, they employ people like Marshall Wittman who specifically try to undermine the Democratic Party, even if it means he has to publicly defecate out the most rank and easily-debunkable lies. They reguarly give credence to the right wing's agenda and its worst, most unsupportable lies. They are the real force that tries to make sure this country is a one party state and that Democrats never really challenge the Republicans in a serious way.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-sirota/why-the-dlc-is-so-dangero_b_13640.html

Without a doubt, the DLC is the most fundamentalist organization within the caucus, the most ideologically rigid, and the most destructive to the progressive cause.

that was 3 1/2 years ago. The other one would not open.

27. I find the following more credible than your attempt at disinformation:
Even more troubling and problematic is the upper right of the Democratic party: the leadership and the Blue Dog/DLC wing. They have inexplicably yielded to Bush again and again, even when his approval rating is in the toilet, even when their capitulation will hurt them electorally. Bankruptcy “reform.” Roberts. Alito. Habeas. Defense reauthorization. FISA. Sometimes they have second thoughts, but always after it’s too late to be undone. I find it harder and harder to believe that this is simple obliviousness; it has to be a deliberate strategy - I just can’t figure out what it is.
http://www.firedoglake.com/index.php?s=DLC

For three decades, advocates of “centrism” have used their money to monopolize the Democratic message and leave the progressive base out in the cold, not spoken to. Since its founding in 1985, the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) has been leading this effort. http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/08/14/3154/

Planetary urges all responsible Democrats to ignore the DLC’s campaign to impose the neoconservative agenda on the Democratic Party.

15. This is why there should be no doubt that we will be in Iraq for years
NO MATTER WHO WINS

The ONLY reason to vote Democrat in 2008 is the Supreme Court, and some social issues

As far as the Iraq war, patriot acts, IWresolutions, don't expect either party to protect our freedoms
