I was just watching Lou Dobbs. The woman sitting in for him is Kitty Pilgrim. She gave this report on the oil market:
"Oil rose to new record high today at over $83 per barrel. The price rose as a result of storms in the Gulf of Mexico." (paraphrased, but accurate).
Tell me how the FUCK anyone can tell you the price of a barrel of oil today is caused by storms currently in the Gulf of Mexico! A storm in the Gulf of Mexico today CANNOT affect today's per barrel price of oil!
Fucking LIARS!!!
It took three goddamned weeks for Hurrican Dean to finally show up in the oil market, for chrissakes!
I HATE THIS FUCKING BULLSHIT!!! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!!

11. anticipate? It's more like plain old fashioned driving |
|
Next we'll be hearing about a *possible* storm that *might* hit during the end of the hurricane season is making the price go up to $95 a barrel NOW.
Anticipation doesn't require backroom deals with oil barons.

3. The debate behind $80 oil |
|
http://money.cnn.com/2007/09/20/news/economy/oil_execs/index.htm?postversion=2007092016Industry executives say there's no reason crude prices should be anywhere near current levels. Others say the fundamentals are there, and Big Oil is playing politics.

4. Be calm, CNN is part of a cabal to misinform the public and |
|
to keep us in the dark about news that would harm the federal governments 'image' in any way shape or form.
To call CNN a news organization is half true, to call it a RW propaganda company is far more accurate.
Just don't watch and tell everyone you meet that talks about the news that the M$N is about MONEY and not NEWS.

6. Turn it off for crissakes |

You can find out anything you need to know right here on DU. You don't need to rot yer mind watching that crap on cable (excepting Countdown of course). Your blood pressure will go down and you'll sleep better.
I'd get rid of the friggin TV completely if it weren't for Olbermann, Mythbusters, Outdoor Life, and football.

7. Hurricane Dean didn't hit oil rigs in the northern Gulf of Mexico, but Humberto did hit some of them |
|
Same thing with Katrina, except Katrina was a category 5 storm.

9. Well they did clear the rigs because of the threat |
|
of a storm but I doubt that has much to do with today's price.

10. Last Thanksgiving we made a bet. |
|
I bet that oil would top $100 per barrel before it dropped back to $50 per barrel. Methinks I will win this bet (albeit I won't like winning because we all lose). (Kicking myself) I should have bought oil stocks before the invasion.
