Question of the day - why this "courtesy filibuster"? |
|
When the D's mentioned filibuster, there were cries of "up or down vote!"
When the R's mention filibuster, the D's roll over and say "consider it done."
The new standard for passage in the Senate has become 60 votes, with virtually no comment anywhere but here. The M$M reports it like it's the normal way of doing business.
I'd sure like a statement from the D's as to why business is being done this way, why they are *assuming* filibuster without actually making the R's *do* it. I'm sure I wouldn't like the answer, but I'd like to hear it just the same.

But I'd like them to make a statement as to *why*. I know why (or at least I have my opinion), but I just want to hear what they stutter out.

Because the "leadership", and I use that term loosely, does not want the legislation to pass, and does not want to admit that.
