9. Here's a link to Radio Lady's thoughts on Dan Rather and other lawsuits that might have been!
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 08:57 PM by Radio_Lady
Radio Lady discusses three companies that I might have been able to sue during 1960-1980.

3. he sure looks/sounds dejected/defeated to me. Do some crank, or something!
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 08:22 PM by Gabi Hayes
have a drink

then go on

you need some energy to fight the monsters

this isn't going to do it

sounded way too apologetic, especially when confronting those at CBS who are calling him crazy, etc

where's the visible OUTrage, Dan?

remember when you confronted Nixon, way back when?

he jumped the shark when Bush I sandbagged him after the US Tennis Open. lost his edge then, and never really regained it

hope he learns from this, after watching the tape, and gets ANGRY!

12. Gabi Hayes, this is an older man who has gone past the anger of youth and the striving of middle age
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 08:54 PM by Radio_Lady
-- to the reflection of age. I'm surprised how much it has happened to me since I turned 65 three years ago. This is not to put you down, but I think you can only understand then when you get to a senior age yourself.

I'm almost at three-score and ten (70 years). Dan Rather is past it -- comfortably situated in another broadcasting endeavor. He is trying to press his case; also, Rather is a Southern gentleman and maybe it has something to do with that. He's also with Larry King in a non-confrontational setting. That's how Larry works -- I used to work with him.

This is my observation. I think you're also hearing some of his teeth clicking together, or perhaps his saliva or conversely, a dry mouth. It also might have been something interfering with his microphone hookup. Very irritating for the half hour. Just sayin'.

I don't know exactly what wrong, one or more things above, or something else -- but it COULD be dentures or loose bridgework.

I just wish Larry King had asked Dan why he waited so long to file this suit. To me, that question is the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

Thanks for reading.

14. always the gentleman, even when it hurts him
I felt tonight that we were seeing Old Man Rather, at last. He has been so sharp for many decades. But tonight I thought he has begun to slightly fail. It may be the result of the attacks on him. I wish him well. He's an American hero. I hope he has the strength to see this through.

of this story, along with EVERY OTHER story, from day ONE, any one of which would have sunk the campaign of anyone other than the media favorite

just watch it happen, watch the stories about Giuliani die after a mention or two in the M$M. it's already happened.

compare the ever-repeating stories about Edwards' hair with those of Giuliani/Kerik, Giuliani/Alan Placa, lies about the air at ground zero, etc.

why do those stories get ZERO play?

it's happening all over again

with Rove?

does he even know about that?

THAT's the real story.

he has to, doesn't he, because they were on top of Rather within hours of his first report, with 'documentation' of the forgery, right?

11. It's Interesting To Hear How The Corp Exec's Shielded Themselves And....
scapegoated Rather. Also the investigation that he talked about - a Repug Bush friend was in charge. Does this sound familar? This is the same MO with Abu Gharab, 911, etc.

Everything *Co has done in since they took office has been political - outing Plame, DOJ, etc.

Hopefully if Rather is successful - and uncovers the pressure being put on CBS by *Co - people will put two and two together on these other shams.
