Oh, Frak this "far left" nonsense...
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 03:13 AM by Mythsaje
George W. Bush is full of shit. So are all the RW pundits, congress-critters, and would-be Presidential candidates who are throwing those words around as if they're not a complete caricature of reality.

It's not "far left" to want this war to end. If that's the case, then the majority of Americans are now "far left." It's not "far left" to want universal healthcare. It's not "far left" to want a more open government and an end to the secrecy and double-dealing that has been the trademark of this administration.

MoveOn.org isn't "far-left" in any real sense and I'm sick and tired of this crap being spewed every time something like this comes up. As I've said before, we only look "far-left" if you're so far to the right that you're hanging off the edge of the world by your fingernails.

Anyone who calls us "far-left" is one of two things...terminally ignorant or a lying piece of shit. We are tired of being deceived and manipulated by our government and their paid stooges in the corporate media. We're tired of photo-ops by the Commander In Chief that presents the IMAGE of solidarity with troops he's all too happy to throw away in a devastating and senseless war.

We're tired of being told we're "spreading Democracy" by the very people who seem to be unwilling to support it here on our own soil. We're tired of being marginalized by the Republicans, and the corporate wing of our own party.

"Far-left" my ass.

Knock it off, you double-dealing, deceptive, methane breathing, sorry excuses for Americans. If you can't speak the truth, shut your lying mouths. Yeah, that goes for you, Limbaugh, and you, Coulter, and you, Savage, and you, Hannity. And ESPECIALLY for you, O'Reilly.

And that goes double for George W. Bush, his lick-spittle yes-men and women (in uniform and out), the Republican pukes in Congress (except for a few more or less honorable ones who haven't bought into the whole blistering package of explosive stupidity and arrogance), and EVERY SINGLE one of the Republican rats racing for their party nomination for President.

It also goes for the so-called "Blue Dog" conservative "Democrats" who are closer to the Republicans than they are to the rest of us.

You know DAMN WELL we're not "far-left." We're a hell of a lot closer to mainstream than YOU have ever been, for all your posturing and pretending. You lie and deceive and demonize better than we do, but that sure as hell doesn't make you right.

And, while we're at it, let's just end this whole "conservative" label you've pasted on yourselves too. You're not conservative--you're regressive. You're radical theocrats, would-be feudalists, and hopeful aristocrats who actually despise Democracy and get your jollies thinking of a world where you could ride roughshod over the "little people" and get away with it.

Fuck you very much.

Eat shit and live.

1. Up is down and down is up fo these people and so it has been for quite a while
I mean, examine the word "radical"

We of the "far left" (actually the center - since 72% of us are now there) are the ones labelled as being "radicals"

But by definition: A radical is one who changes the very fabric of life - the codes that govern the agencies, the words that frame the issues, the coloring of the ideas that are allowed to take place.

With the vote of censure by the Senate against MOVEON.org, apparently we can not even have ideas
unless we run them by the Powers that Be first.

So they are the true radicals. For the most radical thing to an American would be the theft of his right to free speech.

2. Months ago, maybe longer than a year ago, Nora O'Donnell
was calling Sheehan an "extremist" for opposing this "war" when a majority of the country agreed with her.

What you said. We should all be wearing slickers to deflect the propaganda, 24/7.

13. Since they can't call her an extremist with a straight face any longer...
...they've decided not to discuss her at all.

4. Frak....that brings back memories.
And, yes, you are quite right in your assesment. We are who we are....and the politics flows around us. We stand our ground, and, quite frankly, here I stay. I don't give ground. Is that a Celt thing? Ermm, well, probably not just a Celt thing. ;)

8. At this point, almost 80% of US citizens are being called "far left". As you say: FRAK that!
FRAK that nonsense, Frak it with a pair of rusty hedge trimmers
until the Goram handles break off!

Here in 2007, they keep holding up Hillary as the "left liberal"
standard of comparison. But, policy for policy, she's actually
slightly more "rightish" than RICHARD FRAKKING NIXON!!!!!!

They really have "created their own reality". And their reality
is a NIGHTMARE of insanity where up is down, and belief trumps fact.

12. I'm afraid you're wrong.
Far-left skepticism of capitalism as panacea is not mainstream; it just reflects the interests of most Americans. It should be mainstream, but the TV decides what's what, and the Glass Teat has spoken.

Mainstream is now defined as macho posturing where poorer, weaker people and nations are concerned, and slavish flattery whenever a rich white man struts by.

I pray for the day when we wake up.

14. Fear Needs Ignorance And Boogie Men
The parallel universe most Repugnicans live in are based on not just their hubris and arrogance...it's designed to cover their glaring ignorance of reality and their need to create demons to feed that ignorance. The "Commie/Socialist" Boogieman has gotten a sweet long ride by the right. Most couldn't define what that means, but they sure know it when they "see it". They are so twisted they just make labels than then work definitions around them. The "far-left" is one of those boggie men that has been twisted.

As the party has swung further and further right over the past two decades, so has its definition of what is the center. It's swung from Jacob Javits and Barry Goldwater to Rushbo and BillO. Thus in that prism, anything that is truly centrist is "leftist" and anything beyond that is "far-left" or "Pinko Commie" land. It feeds into the fear factory that holds these dead-enders together to the bitter end, and in my opinion, soon off the political abyss. Good riddens!

I'm seeing a growing anger among so many different people...and their frustration grows with every beligerant act of this regime, every lie, every "power play". The attempts to keep the lies going, the parallel universe relevant and alienating the majority of the voters will stick to Repugnicans like tar next year.

It's times like these we need to take a gut check...then redouble our efforts to make next November the ultimate nightmare for the Repugnican party.

15. When was the last time we even HAD a "far left" in this country?
We only have various shades of moderates, from "moderate moderates" to "extreme moderates".
