Bush May Boost Spending Request for Iraq War to $200 Billion
NYT/Reuters: Bush May Boost Spending Request For Iraq War
By REUTERS
Published: September 21, 2007

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration may increase the amount of money it is seeking for the Iraq war for the 2008 fiscal year that begins October 1, the White House said on Friday.

The White House outlined a request for around $147 billion for fiscal 2008 for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. But the administration is reviewing those figures and is considering giving Congress an updated request. "I would expect it to be higher, I can't tell you what the number will be," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said.

The Washington Post has reported the administration may increase its request by up to $50 billion, which would bring the total request to nearly $200 billion.

1. Insane little pointy-earred fuckwit. Where's the money gonna
come from. Is he gonna start pulling the fillings out of our teeth and have them melted down?

2. What difference does it make? Either the Dems will fold up
like a cheap umbrella and give them everything they want or they'll just borrow more money from Asia (or maybe just print more money).

I don't know why they even bother to ask. They're gonna spend whatever they want to.

4. Really ... take it all
and don't leave office in 2009. Really - who would do anything about it?
This mob could stay and spend and kill forever. We'll go shopping.

5. Oh sure. Keep looting and pillaging--we don't mind. Congress sure doesn't.

6. And of course the Congressional Dems will give it to him,
All the while whining and moaning about how they can't stop him, even though they have majority power, and the power of the purse. Playing politics with people's lives, pathetic.
