Poll question: Which candidate do you think is the most articulate? |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 12:12 PM by Lirwin2
I know that polls like this usually end up turning into a "which candidate do you like better" result, rather than adressing what the question actually asks, however, I'm curious to know which Democratic candidate DUers see as the most articulate. In 2004, I thought John Kerry was absolutley terrible at articulating himself, which is why people often fell for the RW lies. Please try to vote based on what you really think, not who you support.

If we could get those 2 together, we could really see some change in our government.

8. They do compliment each veyr well and have the added appeal that |
|
neither is from the north east. Not that there is anything, other than a false sense of superiority, with being from the north east, but most of the voters in the rest of the country have a false sense of inferiority, and therefore resist candidates from the region.
Edwards is a southerner with looks, charm, and the mind of a successful trial lawyer, Kucinich has the foresight, caring, and genuine concern for the citizens that could temper Edwards willingness to concede too much to corporate interests.
I'd rather see Kucinich at the top of the ticket, I trust him more, but Edwards has more of the "electable" qualities, and I know that Kucinich would be like a terrier in pushing Edwards to do the right thing, indomitable and unrelenting.

I would prefer Kucinich on the top also, but since everyone (non Kucinich supporters) seems to think he is sooooo unelectable.
I will campaign and donate for Kucinich. Anyone who is tired of the lobbiest, and corp. running the country would support him too. Too bad he is so unelectable.:sarcasm:

5. Some are more articulate than others |
|
I'm gonna go back to my Kerry example. During the GE, the right loved to prove what a "flip flopper" he was, by using his "I was for the war before I was against it" statement. Kerry had valid reasons for changing his votes as legislation was written & re-written, yet he was unable to articulate these reasons. I truly feel that this was why he could never shake the "flip-flopper" label.

13. Well, maybe he couldn't articulate them to Joe-Sixpack-Journalist for a |
|
sound bite, but he could articulate his reason.
The bar has dropped sooooooooooooooooo low with GWB that I tend to think anyone who can deliver a complete and meaningful sentence is articulate.

4. That depends on what you mean by articulate. |
|
If you mean well-spoken or proper arrangement of words (regardless of truth or being a total dodge of the question) then it would be hard to choose just one.
If you mean expressing oneself clearly and readily, then I'd say Kucinich. He doesn't have to think so hard about a dodge or a lie, think about how what he says might be a flip-flop or how he's going to piss off some corpo-sponsor.

9. Then Kucinich, he has positions and doesn't have to bother lying and then |
|
remembering the lies. He just says what he believes and plans with no equivocation.

Biden is probably next in line.
Richardson, Edwards, and Dodd are among the most inarticulate.

I voted Obama as most articulate, although when Hillary is on the ball, she is amazing.

Yeah, he sticks his foot in his mouth, quite often, but I never glaze over when he speaks, so he must be doing something right.

23. I think people are confusing being articulate with charisma. Chris Dodd is the most articulate |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 05:47 PM by Quixote1818
and I would say Obama and Edwards are more charismatic
