Not to make light of a pending tropical Storm
(okay just a moment of levity) but should I put all the gnomes in the garage? My wonderful wife has gnomes all over our landscaping. I got the big stuff all secured, but the gnomes? I think they are low enough to the ground to leave them out and maybe they will ward off any nasty weather. And when I say my wife has gnomes all over the place I mean lots of gnomes all over the place.

1. would your gnomes feel at home in the garage?
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 02:30 PM by uppityperson
If they won't wash away, they might help staying out. Edited to add, I really don't gnome.

8. I've discovered
those little suckers are happy whereever they are. We crammed them into the garage for Katrina (and I do mean crammed). They were smiling when we left and they were smiling when we returned.

5. Roger that Teammate
That will be our rain (and maybe floodmaker) over the weekend. Those in FEMA trailors are being urged to evacuate in the southern three counties in Mississippi. Heavy winds and maybe tornadoes are also in the forecast.

6. The first thing I'd do is talk to them about getting you good deal on airline tickets out of there
THEN put them in the garage...

7. I'd move them all in except for one...
Leave outside the one that looks remarkably like Ari Fleischer in a gnome suit.

9. I'd just leave them.
I'm just taking down the patio umbrella and unplugging my fountains as a precaution. Other than that, I'm not picking anything up.

such as Attorney General Gonzales?

12. Be it ever so humble, there's no place for gnomes.
If the storm surges whip up enough wind, you don't want you or your neighbors losing a couple of window panes to flying gnomes. Most insurance policies don't cover Acts of Kokopeli.

14. If you leave them out...
...and it becomes a hurricane they will show gnomercy to the neighbors windows. This of course is not true if you live next to a golf course then you just end up with gnome on the range.

Plus you might have to worry about these folks... ;p

16. Interesting because
after Katrina we discovered that nothing low lying was disturbed. We had our garage stacked and packed as tightly as possible with everything that was outside in the yard, but we had some low lying stuff we just did not fool with and it was exactly where we left it. The neighbors shed from two hundred yards away ended up in the trees behind our house but the gnomes did not move an inch.

Don't move them unless the wind speed suggest trouble.

19. I'll take the best possible action
Ask the wife what she wants me to do. They sit way low to the ground and are in landscaping so I think they are safe.

21. heheh
If your low-lying stuff was fine before, I'd think leaving them out should be fine. Unless the wife says otherwise, then you'd best do that. They're her gnomes after all.
:)
