I can't believe this type of stuff is still happening!

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana (CNN) -- A Louisiana city that hosted many of the "Jena 6" protesters Thursday became the site of a racially charged incident of its own.

Authorities in Alexandria, less than 40 miles southwest of Jena, arrested two people who were driving a red pickup Thursday night with two nooses hanging off the back, repeatedly passing groups of demonstrators who were waiting for buses back to their home states.

Do you remember the town of Gretna (I think that's the correct name) made the choice to have black people die, than save them, because they feared them.

I think in Georgia. They stole some sort of mannequin from a govt building, painted it black and hung it from an overpass.

The majority of humans, no matter where they're born or where they reside, are assholes and will probably always be assholes until we kill ourselves and the planet. Which will probably be less than a generation, so you're looking probably at the apex of human evolution.

No prejudice has gone away. It's just become more subtle as overt expression of it becomes less acceptable. There's loads of prejudice on DU, even.

I'm disturbed that they were arrested for it.
