Bill Moyer's Journal - Rachel Carson and her book Silent Spring ON NOW

She made my dad (a seed and chemical salesman) into an environmentalist. He quit his quite lucrative job with Rudy Patrick Seed Company after he read Silent Spring and RP was ramping up the sale of DDT and worse.

She might be the mother of the environmental movement.
