You know I'll share this - a long time ago my dad ran an oil |
|
company and he knew what went into it - How hard some work was.
SO the refinery people went on strike - and the company would not give them any raise.
But dad - he knew what it took to work a refinery. He ran a refinery.
You know what he did? - He shut the goddamn office down and made the people go and work that refinery - he really did. Bullet holes in his car and everything. They didn't get it. Guess what - two weeks later they got that raise. They got it then - when they really knew what went into that work.
He knew the deal - he was a responsible guy - he knew they had families - and he made fucking sure they did too. They got what they had coming - they never knew the real ally they had. Only after the fact.
He was an engineer - now they have lawyers running the business - no heart or soul or appreciation for the damn business. They can go to hell.
There was a day - when people who really understood a business ran the business - and they really stood with their people.
Not anymore - and that is wrong.

1. Oh yeah - I still have the damn car from then - |
|
near as I can tell those were 38s shot at him.
I remembered this converstation he had with mom about that. He said - oh those were little bullets - I used to shoot people with real bullets. Those things - just pea shooters - they aren't gonna kill me.
Of course they didn't hit him. Of course he shot with 50s maybe two inches long when he killed Germans.
Those things he got shot at with - sure look like they would kill me.
You see - there was a time when there were responsible capitalists - I remember that time. And they took care of their people. Support unions - more than that -they are necessary. They are the counter balance to abuse. Some people, even in power -they knew that and respected that. I know.

4. They say the pendulum always swings back, and seems to me |
|
it's just about time for that to start happening now. Corporations have got to learn that, like your father, they've got to stand with their workers - the workers do the work - simple, really.

I think great companies- they always knew that.
You better watch out you f-ng lawyers -trying to run companies on the cum.
You want to pretend you run the company that produces that "widget" - better know what the product is.
Your people make you - and they can break you too.
You want to find out the hard way?? - Try it. You really think you are better than the people that make this country?
Dad knew that - lived that way - he was a fighter pilot in the 12th tactical air command - great men - who the fuck are you people??? What - he had two presidential citations and croix de gueres?? Who are you???? Screw you.
Tar and feather - you bet!!!!
