In what ways will the Rs repackage Fear and Greed for the 2008 elections?
It seems to me that all the Rs ever really have to run on are Fear and Greed. Fear of communists, fear of terrorists, fear of immmigrants, fear of gay marriage, fear of ______ (you fill in the blank). Or else it's Greed, in the form of: Vote for us because we'll cut your taxes, while the other guys want to raise your taxes. Or vote for us because we'll do something to the economy that will magically result in more dollars in your pocket. These are what the Rs appeal to during elections, not logic, facts, reason, history, common sense, common decency, community, fairness, peace, justice, and so on. Those don't motivate the electorate like Fear and Greed do. Fear and Greed are what the Rs operate on. What are the 2008 editions going to be?
