George Clooney Hurt in Motorcycle Crash
Published: 9/21/07, 12:05 AM EDT

WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (AP) - George Clooney and a companion were injured on Friday when their motorcycle collided with a car on a narrow road across the Hudson River from New York City.

Clooney suffered a broken rib and scrapes while his passenger, Sarah Larson, broke her foot in the 3:30 p.m. collision. The two were treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen and released, Clooney's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said.

"He's doing fine," Rosenfield said. "He has a broken rib, it's very painful and it'll take a long time to heal."

Clooney and Larson were traveling north and sped up to pass on the right of a 1999 Mazda Millenia that was preparing to make a right turn, said Weehawken police Sgt. Sean Kelly. Both were wearing helmets.

It wasn't known whether the Mazda's driver, whose identity was not immediately released, used a turn signal, Kelly said. The accident was under investigation.

18. i don't need to think on the right to know how dangerous it is
i only have to turn on the news, the internets or look at a newspaper. i've never stuck my hand into a roaring fire to know it's dangerous.

6. broken ribs hurt like the dickens.
before I divorced, my ex-broke mine, and the only thing that felt good was seeing her served with the divorce papers.

Clooney is a class act, a fine actor, and one smart dude. Good Night and Good Luck is one of my fave films.

20. OUCH! I merely bruised my
ribs and I thought they were broken the pain was so excruciating. Had to take drugs cause I couldn't breathe, laugh, cough, or sneeze otherwise.

9. Didn't Clooney suffer a spinal fracture a few years ago on a movie set?
He told Leno or Letterman that he periodically has spinal fluid running from his nose as a result.

10. Two painful breaks--foot and rib.
I hope they heal up well and will be okay. Broken ribs hurt like the dickens for a long, long time.

11. One thing you can be absolutely sure about if you ride a bike - you're gonna go down.
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 08:21 AM by ThomWV
I have been riding motorcycles for about 45 years. I have gone down 3 times (that count) and know well how badly broken ribs (and collar bone, and shoulder blade, and arm, and leg) hurt and how badly road rash can ruin a night's sleep. The one good thing is that the more you ride the less it happens but in just about every case its the asshole in the car that causes the accident (bad choice of words - its usually not an accident, its a case of outright stupidity, inattention, or hubris).

13. Go take a riding safety course or 10 and then pay attention. That's what safety is, paying attentio
And then enjoy.

19. Oy Vey. Here's hoping he gets well soon. I like Clooney.
Couldn't pay me enough to ride a motorcycle, though. I've had road rash and it sucks.
