Who Else Sees This Coming Regarding China
With the United States' wholesale shipment of jobs to China, China has been using all of their profits to build a modern military arsenal. They are well on their way to replacing what the Soviet Union was during the Cold War. An enemy for the Military Industrial Complex to rake in enormous wealth selling "protection" to this nation's citizens.

Who can clearly see that the United States will once again have an enemy to guard against, rather than this delusional War On Terror garbage? The present war is just a moneymaking sideshow, until the main event gets in place. Cold War II with China will be the next golden goose for the Military Industrial Complex.

1. True. The Cold War with Russia was all the rage in the early 1980s
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 12:48 PM by ShortnFiery
I can't believe all of "The Threat" hyper-focusing I had to endure during the four years I was on Active Duty. The Russians were EVIL-DOERS! Government always have to have a "boogie-man" in order to scare the populace into compliance. Thereby enabling greedy corporate leaders to feed the beastie known as The Military Industrial Complex. :(

2. China spends about 1/10th the amount we do on their Military...
Of course I heard on Art Bell's show that the Chinese will invade the US and make it all the way to Denver before they get bogged down...

I think that prediction was for 2009...

3. We have been giving and they have been stealing
Technology from us for several years now. They also do not pay as much for labor to build and sustain their military.

China will be the next Boogie Man for the Military Industrial Complex to "protect" the United States from. And the 'Leaders' of this nation allowed this to happen, by selling America out.

19. One thing to remember China and Russia may only spend a fraction on their
military compared to what we spend spend, but they don't have that huge overhead expense of maintainig bases around the world like we do, last I read we had something like 700 to 800 military bases or outpost in over a hundred countries around the world. China and Russia don't have that expense so all of their defense spending can be spent internally to upgrade their militaries.

4. Their sub fleet is what needs most attention; as with the USSR/Russia
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 01:03 PM by EVDebs
Read Blind Man's Bluff by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew. BTW, my uncle invented the launch system for Poseidon and Trident missile systems that made MAD possible via hiding the launch vehicles, the subs, not mentioned in the book however.

. . . is all the bad and dangerous stuff from China has only popped up recently. China's been making stuff for a long time, yet why now?

6. Many nations are taking advantage of Bush's "smoke and mirrors"...
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 01:20 PM by liberalmuse
"War on Terror" to stock their arsenals and make alliances against the U.S. and Great Britain, and who can blame them after seeing what we've done to Iraq without just cause? All China has to do is pull the rug out from under the U.S. and the economy collapses. Right now, they need our voracious consumerism in order to rake in as much dough as they can.

When Bush strikes Iran and I hope to god it does not come to this, that's it. He will have opened Pandora's box, and that will be the beginning of the end of U.S. Global power. You know Russia, North Korea and China will ally with Iran, along with Syria and a good portion of the smaller nations of the world, noting that Bush likes to pick on "little", lesser developed countries. After that, the U.S. will collapse within a matter of months. I'm being generous with "months". Cynical? Not after 7 years of Bush weakening our economy and military. We have no idea of the real damage Bush has done to this country yet. You don't have to be a psychic to know what will happen if Bush pre-emptively nukes Iran. The worst part is, Bush is all swaggering and confident that without a doubt he is doing the right thing, when he has no fucking clue that he in truth, is a destroyer and a scourge to all that is good and decent on this planet. He thinks he is a "man of God", when in truth, he fits the Christian "anti-Christ" to a "T".

7. Yeah, the fiction might play in Peoria
but the reality will fall far short. China has never particularly wanted to extend Empire through force. They already tried that.

They have a very long history and take the long view of things. They know wars of Empire are sucker's propositions. They are no military threat to the US. They'd rather stay home, cultivate their industries, and count the money.

The real problem with China will be when they can no longer afford the fall in the dollar. In order to keep profits up, they will allow the Yuan to float. That will bring instant double digit inflation to the US in everything from socks to refrigerators. It will be a disaster.

However, the pennies on the dollar they spend on the military in comparison to the US is not our problem unless Stupid II decides to invade.

9. I wasn't saying China would be a threat to conquer the U.S.
I was saying that they will be the next Boogie Man for the Military Industrial Complex to shake down the American people with in a New Cold War.

8. Military Domination by China Not Necessary, They Own Trillions in US TNotes
they could call in the money on those Tnotes (treasury notes)
and bankrupt our country over night.

THIS IS MUCH MORE SERIOUS AND MUCH MORE POWERFUL Than lobbing a few bombs our way.

China is the Superpower that the US used to be and we are the Russia to their superpower.

that's the real deal.

agreeing with an exclamation mark on china's dominance over our lives.

i'm learning chinese in preparation for the day I wake up and saying morning boss to a chinese person.

10. For China to call in their notes, they know they will cut off their money maker
In exports to the U.S. and put an end to their prosperity.

But, with what they are doing with their military, the Military Industrial Complex is being given their next golden goose to replace the former Soviet Union, by the 'Leaders' of this nation. The perception that the U.S. needs to guard against an up and coming super power.

12. U.S outsourced ALL military computers/chips to Communist China (!!)
They have very advanced Electro-magnetic laser pulses(frequency specific) to our spy satelittes, submarines, missles, ships, planes etc.etc. for which they created/manufactured all the chips .

Just like the US spy satellite over North Korea--they can turn (blink) it OFF any time they wish, and US missed NK's launch of their nuke capable missles into Sea of Japan last year.

When/if Cheney calls an Admiral on a US carrier in Straits of Hormuz and says 'Strike Iran' China can turn all of the ships computers OFF.

China has thoroughly/successfully hacked into all the Pentagon 'top secret' computer files--straight into Gates' personal files. Only recourse Pentagon had for protection was to turn off the computers!~

Yes, China has checkmated 220 year old USA without firing a shot, and we are in the palm of their 8000 year old culture's ancient hand....We gave them our debts which they bought, and we gave them our military computers which the totally control in various ways....

20. agreed
the chinese spying in america has been relentless and often.

their domination of the cellphones we buy is also cause for concern. in a key incident they could shut down our cellphones preventing communication during an emergency.

all you have to do is look at their aggression and violence in Tibet to see they have world domination on their roadmap and will easily succeed against their chosen enemies.

right now the bombing in syria from Israel is more like

US + Isreal

bombing
Syria + North Korea + China

who do you think is going to win?

14. Years ago, I submitted an item to the Top Ten Conservative Idiots
This was during the time when the Bushies were trying to drum up support for renewing Star Wars
"missile shield." However, they weren't getting very far, because in fact, with the collapse of the Soviet Union and better relations with China, there was no one to be shielded from.

Then there was a small article that said that Condoleezza Rice was talking with the Chinese about wanting them to build a missile system of the type that Star Wars would defend against.

I wish I were making this up, but I'm not. It ought to be in the Top Ten Conservative Idiots archives somewhere.

15. I see a US owned by foreign powers, and a few rich familes. "Socialist" empires-Arab
and Asian can buy and control anything that we think of as "ours." Our future is not bright.

Consider that the US government can't buy 20% or all of Nasdaq but the government of Dubai can. Our so-called "free enterprise" system and govt of, for and by the people has been corrupted and fails us. The Bush/Cheney families have looted our treasury and left us with massive debt from their spending on personal military adventures. Our wealth has been channeled into Carlyle, Halliburton, Blackwater, and to ruling Arab families.

How the Bushes must have spent decades envying the ruling Arab families and trying to figure out how to become like them.

We are now one of those Banana Republics we used to scorn; the future for us could be what is the present in Iraq.

Our revolution will have to be non-violent; get ready for the tasers.

17. That's what I see too
It happened a lot faster than I thought it would. Those who haven't figured out how to create wealth through investment are doomed to the serf class and I don't care what they do for a living. They are insourcing doctors and scientists already. People have no clue about the building boom going on in Dubai and China. Our country is deteriorating while others are profiting from the Bush tax cuts.

18. Bush had to delay his war so that he could get
equipment for the military from China. Mattel apologized to China Friday for "overstating" the amount of poisoning that China has inflicted on us.

And as far as Bush fitting the Anti-Christ's description? I agree. He's not a christian but the believers think he is. I can't think of a single christ-like activity that I know of and in fact, most of his actions (Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, torture to name a few) fit the description of evil much better than good.
