So...who's gonna be the first to excuse, justify, explain, or "understand" Mr. Simmons based on animal torture somehow being a part of his "culture"? Let's start an office pool. I'm taking Whoopie Goldberg on Tuesday's "The View".

Sorry to sound like a reactionary rethug, but the whole "dogfighting-as-culture" thing sickens me.

I got so disgusted by all of the "I'm not condoning Michael Vick, BUT..." bullshit that asked the rest of us to "understand" that animal torture was a part of his growing up, as if that somehow changed ANYTHING. Simmons is 36 years old...whatever he might have seen "growing up" he's has about twenty years to learn that it may actually be antisocial, illegal, or psychotic.

and noticed your signature lines. I am not currently vegetarian but have been for large stretches of time. If you're ever in Athens GA may I suggest The Grit (www.thegrit.com), the best veggie restaurant ever. If you're not ever in Athens, may I suggest The Grit Cookbook (available through their website and many elsewheres), in which they reveal all, even the recipes you'd've thought they'd keep secret!
