By that I mean like Florida in 2000, Ohio in 2004. And why?

7. I don't think there are enough popular or electoral votes to affect anything there.

As much as people would like to think it is, Colorado is not getting any bluer. Musgrave still roams free. And Salazar doesn't exactly vote in a manner consistent with getting to call himself a Democrat. (or maybe he does. How depressing.)

9. You could be right.
There's a battle going on with the Repukes trying to split our electoral votes by districts. If they succeed that means that possibly 22 electoral votes could go to Republicans. That could be enough to tip the election.

11. Support for that initiative
is at about 25%. I don't think it's going anywhere.

12. I hope so, but we didn't think the Republicans could pull off
the recall of Grey Davis and install Arnold as Governor, but they did. I won't get comfortable until it's dead and gone.

They started seizing machines in Philly when they saw Kerry up by 20 points.

I abhor the Florida climate. And after having visited Ft. Lauderdale for my brother's wedding, I dubbed it 'Kentucky with palm trees.'

That was almost ten years' ago. And Kentucky has come along a lot more than I anticipated back then. While Florida is still just another hangout for the BECF.

8. California is being groomed for the job,
what with the electoral vote monkey business. Sounds like they (Rove and co.) are hoping Cali will be the new Ohio (which was the new Florida, after all).

16. Well, they sure managed to manipulate the state into electing Ahnold
by creating and exploiting the whole energy disaster.

Step 1: Create a crisis
Step 2: Sow confusion
Step 3: Present a "solution"

Now they have the whole state executive branch at their disposal to play nasty electoral games.

17. Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Colorado.
They do this on the backs of "minority" voters. And lately, they target students, too. Low hanging fruit.

I'm not signing up to walk for my candidate but instead will be working election protection. Enough already.

The Democrats conceded they had no control over it in 2004. Then they got screwed in Ohio, too.

21. Missouri: Current Republican Gov was past SOS
Matt Blunt. During his election as Secretary of State Blunt received considerable fundraising support from his father's supporters and from out-of-state Republicans in his 2000 Secretary of State bid. Senior political strategist Karl Rove appeared at an April 21, 2000 fundraiser in Springfield.
