Here's a few of the DUers meeting before the march at the designated corner. You can't see it in the photo, but apparently this park is a "campsite" for several of the homeless in DC. It was really sad to see them stretched out on the benches, covered with whatever. While we were waiting, a bus pulled up, and volunteers distributed food.
This was the coolest display. It worked with levers and pulleys. As the oil rig moved so did the lying weasel's mouth. Very appropriate.
Code Pink had a large group there. They kept us entertained with their sing-a-longs while we waited to get moving.
I loved this sign. It was so artistically done, and had such a great message.
Best dog in the march.
The police spent quite a bit of time going up and down the stairs arresting those who crossed the barriers. I believe most got a good amount of exercise that day.
The DUers kept together pretty well for most of the march, but by the end, the "herd" somehow got scattered, one by one, or two by twos. This is what was left of our group, relaxing at the end.
Yours truly, hamming it up at the WWII Memorial the next day.
