Fallon: ‘Constant drumbeat’ of Iran war talk ‘not helpful.’

In an interview with al Jazeera television, CentCom Commander Admiral William Fallon warned that constant talk of bombing Iran is not hepful. “This constant drumbeat of conflict is what strikes me which is not helpful and not useful,” he said. “I expect that there will be no war and that is what we ought to be working for,” said Fallon. “It is not a good idea to be in a state of war. We ought to try and to do our utmost to create different conditions.”

1. I hope he didn't go to their studio. Two big old targets.
Fallon may turn out to be a good guy when this Bush insanity is over. He's got a lot of courage.

2. I agree.
Fallon sounds like he had some good Master Chiefs who were his sea daddies, who got him squared away and thinking right.

With phrases like "ass-kissing little chickenshits" it would seem that they also taught him the finer points of tender ministrations, in the service of personal counseling to subordinates. ;-)

7. Spoken like a true Amercan officer and a gentleman.
As for the neo-con, born-again, jack-booted officers spouting the Bush Crime Family line, I'd say something; but don't want to expose myself to a censure from our "representatives" in the United States Senate.

9. It's so odd then that he stated that thet the Taliban were being given arms by Iran.
If that doesn't stir thoughts of war, I don't know what does. This man is confusing the hell out of me.

10. When did he say that? I just learned his name last week.
And you know, there's probably a lot of people making a lot of money sending arms into Afghanistan and Iraq. Business is business.
