Let's assume that we will soon be where the Iraqis are today
Emeshed in a civil war. It may not happen today or in six months, but if conditions don't drastically change soon, we will see violence between the left and the right.

Who do you see as a leader of those who oppose the asses of evil in Washington and their politics of hated?

This leader could be anyone, military person, politician, etc. Is there anyone strong enough to overcome the evil that we have today and can unite the left to rid itself of the criminals who have overtaken our country?

Who is our leader?

2. Spare us from "leaders". We have too many as it is.
People make revolutions. The "leaders" just latch on to the will of the people.

3. Thom Hartmann.
I say this, partly in jest, to your very broad query. However, I base my answer on the fact that my rw mother described Hartmann as "reasonable & polite." He is someone she would at least listen to.

7. dont think it would be that bad
unless religious fundamentalism takes a stranglehold on america I think soon americans from both sides will unite from the oncoming reccession and blowback, i think this president might just be a uniter....after everything desolves first though.

8. What's happening in Iraq did happen in America with our
westward expansion when we took everything from the native first nations' people. This is really no different. It's what our military tradition is built on. I think this is why it's so easy for us to go into other nations and trash the place for our own global interests. Of course the Iraqis have been intermittently trashed by invading conquerers in modern times since before WWI. I know the rank and file American doesn't think this way, but our military culture does and when we get a commander-in-chief who wants to do global expansion this way, it isn't hard for them to agree. I think this is why it was so easy to set Colin Powell up as one of their stooges.

12. But I don't assume that.
I read American history and realize that there have been many periods when the invective was AT LEAST as vicious as it is today. This isn't like the North/South thing. I just don't see a civil war in our near future.

14. Can you imagine an america with government contracted mercenaries
roaming the streets, armed drones patroling the skys over your city, check points set up to enter and exit your communities, your friends and relatives that resist being hunted down and killed or detained and locked away forever, people being spied on and arrested for critizing the leader. Well our government is putting all this in practice in Iraq it's just a matter of time that they employ those tactics here. what would you do leave the country or stay and fight?
