4. Edwards explains it takes the American people to bring pressure on Congress to reform healthcare... |
|
He once again reiterates that the movement for universal healthcare resides in the American people who will hold their representatives responsible for seeing that it becomes reality.
Edwards can rally the American people to see that this gets the coverage it deserves, and not let the responsibility for getting it done fall into the laps of those who are likely to be influenced by the money healthcare lobbyists.

5. Listening to Edwards talk about healthcare reform you understand why he is feared by insurers... |
|
Edwards would put the care of people first, and cut out the funds going to the insurers who limit care and pocket profits from the denial of care.
Sure would be nice to have someone advocating on the behalf of the people rather than someone purchased by the healthcare insurance lobby intent on preserving the status quo that has led to the most profits for insurers in history.

6. John Edwards' proposal regarding medical malpractice lawsuit reform is based on system we have in NC |
|
As an attorney you cannot file a medical malpractice suit until you have first had the potential claim reviewed by a medical expert in the same specialty and that expert is willing to sign an affidavit that the standard of care was violated and led to the injury.
And Edwards is right, the heavily financed propaganda that lawsuits are driving up healthcare costs is totally disingenuous --even under the most broad reading of statistics they would account for no more than 1% of healthcare costs, and included in that amount are the 'legitimate claims of those injured due to medical mistakes.'

Those from ABC News and WSJ were piece of works, and Edwards knew how to steer through their BS.
