What Did Y'all Think Of The Ahmadinejad Interview On 60 Minutes?
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 10:15 AM by Dinger
I thought it was a joke, and the "interviewer" (I use the term loosely here) should be made accountable for the damage he inflicted.
What the hell? Did rove write the "interview"?

1. I thought the interviewer asked good questions. Amadinajehn didn't
answer clearly or directly. He is a propagandaist just like Bush.

2. it reflected very poorly on america, and reinforced american stereotypes of a bully
the iranian president did an excellent PR job.

all in all i think that reporter should be fired for botching up such an important interview.

18. Good point
Worldwide perception of American arrogance is fueled by such behavior writ large and small.

Ahmedinejad's popularity in Iran rests partly on perceptions of him as a humble, ordinary man. He was able to juxtapose that very well in this interview against Pelley, just as he did so earlier in the Mike Wallace interview.

On 60 Minutes he is interrogating, not to be confused with an interview with President Ahmadinejad . He asks " There is NO DOUBT that Iran is supplying weapons that KILL americans"!!! Confrmed by whom Scott?? The US Military??

omg! This is such biased and hostile interview, I am disgusted!

He's best defense is the lack of moral authority of America today. In fact, I find that reporter rude.

It's the first time I feel kind of sympathetic to the President of Iran. I still think he is behind the death of hundreds of American troops, don't get me wrong.

demonize this man before he speaks. Okay....he ain't the brightest bulb in a socket but the Imans in Iran aren't stupid at all. Most Iranians aren't stupid! They would like to join the rest of the world but if we blow their shit up, they would have no choice but to fight.

6. I thought I was watch FAUX news at first.
I've never been impressed with that 60 minutes "reporter." He's done very biased interviews before, belongs to the Katie Couric "some people say..." school of reporting. The whole show has gone downhill IMO.

10. Yep, the story was less about Ahmadinejad...
...and more about the WH scripted crap that came out of the interviewer's mouth.

I would love for someone who knows about journalism, like Moyers or Olbermann to have done the interview, it would have been more insightful about Ahmadinejad.

12. I laughed when he asked what the Iran Pres. thought of Bush!

I think they're both freaking idiots!! The interviewer was a complete idiot
and I didn't understand the way he seemed to be grilling Ahmadinejad.

He was acting sooo angry!

And WTH? "The USA and Iran are walking down the road to war"?

Was the interviewer TRYING to cause a war??

13. I don't think it was a great performance by Scott Pelley, but let's
not forget the freepers called Pelley all sorts of names when he interviewed Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich about his role in the Haditha killings.

I thought Pelley did a good job, and freeper comments like "bleeding heart line of questioning" and "Pelley's sniveling, shaking voice, and self righteous manner was hideous" reinforce my belief.

It think over all, Pelley seems like a good reporter.

17. Lack of professionalism, quest for sensationalism
Pelley could have asked his questions in a professional manner, and would likely have gotten better answers. He reminded me of a guy who feels he's been short-changed by a cashier who, instead of saying "Did you make a mistake?", asked "Why are you trying to rob me?"

When he said "there is no doubt" at one point, talking about Iranian weapons in Iraq, he resembled Cheney, regarding Iraqi WMDs. Maybe it is true that Iranian weapons are finding their way into Iraq, but it seems oddly off-kilter for a nation which has invaded and occupied from half a world away to be outraged about responses in neighboring countries, esp by one where the US is supplying Kurdish terrorists.

'evidence' of Iran's building a nuclear bomb and supplying Iraq with weapons.

16. I thought Pelly turned in a good, aggressive hard-nosed interview.
If only more reporters would grill our own heads of state and captains of industry with as much vigor.

I was fascinated by the Bush quote; Bush accused Ahmadinejad of exactly what Bush has done to the USA and i wanted Ahmadinejad to say that.
