Much as I like having him out of our country, I now feel pity on those poor countries he goes to visit.

The noise is deafening.

I also wonder how many people in Iran are saying to themselves, "America can keep him," in regards to Ahmadinejad?

1. It's much, much worse
because he's so goddamned important that he needs planeloads of equipment and people to form his entourage and make sure none of those common people are around to trouble His Eminence with a catcall or a bare bum. Other countries have to put up with snipers on the rooftops, helicopters overhead, and a cast of hundreds.

3. That's true
My daughter was in Italy one year when he came there to visit. She said the levels of anger and the security were insane.

2. Didn't the Queen of England get pissed off with Bush because
his security goons ruined the gardens in one of her palaces?

4. It wasn't just one of her palaces, it was Buckingham Palace.
If I recall correctly they used her lawn as helipads and destroyed it. I'd forgotten about that until you mentioned it.

6. It'd be interesting to see Boobya answer questions at an Iranian university.
Or, perhaps laughable would be a better word than interesting.

7. I said someplace else today
The only way he'd set foot in Iran would be if he were declaring, "mission accomplished."

However, I think it would be interesting to see bush involved in a real question and answers session at any college, especially a foreign one.

But, I'm biased.
