Random thoughts on Limbaugh and the "Democrat" party. |
|
Not long ago I heard Pigboy on the EIB (Erection In Bottle) network babbling about how the Democratic National Party should actually be referred to as the "Democrat" party because just as a Republican belongs to the Republican party, then by God, a Democrat must, by extension, belong to the "Democrat" party. Of course, by that logic, Derek Jeter can never be called a New York Yankee. He is a member of the "Yankees", therefore, in Limbaugh land he must be a "Yankees". Peyton Manning is not a Colt, he's a "Colts". But let's put that total lack of logic aside. Shit, we already knew that Rush is dumber than a fundamentalist preacher. No, what strikes me about this issue is the stunning prescience demonstrated by the founders of the Republican party. There is a reason that they made a conscious decision to call both themselves and their party "Republican". With a foresight that Nostradamus can only envy, they realized that somewhere, many years down the road, their party would be hi-jacked by a band of right-wing fools. Those same prognisticators also predicted that anyone who would subscribe to the bullshit that would surely be spouted by the aforementioned fools would certainly be too fucking stupid to know the difference between a noun and an adjective. Better to give the faithful just one word to remember, and not confuse them with any of that pesky grammar stuff.

1. Hey Limbag, maybe republicans should be called "Whigs." |
|
That's the party most of them came from in the 1850s.

2. I just cannot bring myself to get upset by it. |

I was mildly amused when Bush would have to correct himself -- he'd say "Democratic" then correct it to "Democrat". He now says it with more ease.
Limbaugh just simply demonstrates his lack of familiarity with the language with his brainless rants. I once listened to Piggy when I drove to and from work at lunch. I'd yell or laugh at the radio, but now he's just boring. It's between two full years since I heard his lovely voice.

4. Yeah, the GOP framed the "Democrat" Party and the Dems don't object. |

6. Repukes use passive aggressive |
|
The drawback to this is that their mainstream party members are too stupid to pick up on it, and so don't know the difference.
But Repukes don't care about that anyway: it's not how you get there that matters to the right-wing lizard-brain...just get there.
Authoritarianism, passive aggressivity and "projection" sums up the Repukes' understanding of things.

7. Loved how K.O. gave Bush the business |

for this bastardization of the name of our party. I do take exception to it and am delighted that it's become an issue.
