That sounds like a utopia for the right-wing christo-facists!

3. It just shows you the cynicism
During the battles in Lebanon last year Tucker Carlson was praising the "gay bars" in Beirut, ostensibly to demonstrate that they were all about "freedom."

10. I think his point was that they are hipocrytical douches
They are proud to shout "huzzah for the gays! freedom!" when it fits their political purposes - all the while salivating at repressing, marginalizing and destroying gays in our own country.

13. You must have missed my clear statement at the beginning of the
sentence situating the discussion about LEBANON. Reading helps, kiddo.

12. Seriously. It no longer boggles my mind though
We hear it so much here in the south and particularly through the Bible belt about how awful "the gays" are and how its ruining our country. However, these same people are the ones that are the first to cite the treatment of homosexuals when it comes to Iran, et al.

They get all kinds of upset when they find out I'm a straight male that supports gay rights worldwide.

11. Oil. Why do you think?
The world is full of crazy theocracies. You think gays aren't persecuted in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or the UAE?

But those countries' oil profits are being shared with America.

Iran don't play dat game.

14. Yes, but you know the reasons we'll be given for blowing them to hell will include this

I can just hear it now from the GOP - "we are invading/bombing them because of their terrible human rights record and the WMD's. You liberals are un-american, terrorist loving fools for opposing this because we are going to free the gays. Your opposition means you don't care about gays!"
