I wish he lost his 2005 election campaign against his reformist opponent and I cheered his party's losses in last year's elections.

But Ahmadinejad is Iran's elected head of state and by snubbing him, we snub the Iranian government and its people. Right now, such a snub is not only wrong-headed, it's dangerous."

1. Gravel is NOT crazy

as the msm would have you believe.

2. I had a vicious solution to the problem.

Let him go, hosted and closely escorted by Mayor Bloomberg, and a cadre of religious leaders from the city--to include a hefty, tall Rabbi or two. Make sure they're in EVERY PHOTO--either the Jewish mayor, the Rabbis, or even a few of those pesky Catholic priests.

It would ruin the photo op for the guy. Because that's really what he wants--a picture, to show his pissed off population, who are dealing with horrible inflation, gas rationing (yes, in Iran) and a crumbling infrastructure.

Ahmadinejad is about as 'elected' as Bush is. He's a handpicked mouthpiece of the Supreme Leader.
