Saw an article in the Financial Times about the Iranian president's visit and was struck by the way his name was spelled:

"Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, Iran’s president, kicked off his trip to the United Nations and New York on Monday by denouncing protesters against his visit and discounting talk of war with the US."

No big deal; just caught my attention. We always pronounce the DIN together (DIN-ejad) but on this spelling, not so.

3. I almost learned to say his name with "I'm mad in ne head". Almost.
Amadi-Nejad might be being used to help people pronounce it at all. Now I've completely forgotten the correct way to say it. Guess I'll have to call him Mahmoud.
